COLLEGE FOOTBALL — Ex-Lake Zurich quarterback Matt Blanchard had a productive performance in the Players All-Star Classic football game, which was held Saturday in Little Rock, Ark.
Blanchard, a senior at UW-Whitewater, helped the North squad to a 24-19 victory. He tossed a 17-yard TD to Buffalo’s Marcus Rivers with 31 seconds left in the half.
The game featured players who are considered as prospects for the 2012 NFL Draft. A majority of the invitees were from SEC, Big 12, ACC, and Big Ten conferences.
Blanchard led UW-Whitewater to a Division III national title this past season. As a starting QB at the Wisconsin school, he compiled an impressive 25-0 record, throwing for nearly 3.000 yards with 23 TD passes.
