Carmel Catholic’s all-state running back Jordan Kos has made a verbal commitment to Winona State.
Kos had a celebrated varsity career with the Corsairs.
In the 2011 season, Kos racked up a school-record 1,582 yards on 228 carries. He scored 19 times.
During his three years in the Carmel backfield, Kos finished with 3,868 yards to become the school’s all-time rushing leader, surpassing Jimmy Potempa (3,543).
Potempa, an ‘06 grad, went on to play at Michigan (two years) and Eastern Illinois.
Both players finished their prep careers with a school-record 45 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, according to Carmel coach Andy Bitto, senior Michael Panico is “still weighing options.”
Center Shane Toub, son of Chicago Bears special-teams coach Dave Toub, will be making visits to Eastern Illinois and West Texas.
Linebacker and leading tackler Tyler Lees could join ex-Corsair Matt Tripiccio at Division II Merrimack College. He also has interest in the Division II Indianapolis.
