Mundelein, IL 11/28/11 The private grounds of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein are not only the home of the main seminary of the Archdiocese of Chicago, but also the home to a thriving year-round deer population. The campus, located in the village of Mundelein, is over 600 acres and and first opened in 1844, closing in 1866 and reopening in 1921.
