Police blotter for July 30

Police Blotter

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Lake Zurich

TRAFFIC

Marcellus J. Hill, 21, 2712 N. Villa Lane, McHenry, was charged Sunday with driving on a suspended driver’s license and driving with illegally tinted front and side windows. Hill was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Golfview Road. Hill was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Sept. 7 court date in Mundelein.

Robertas Rajuncas, 33, 166 Harbor Drive, Lake Barrington, was charged July 24 with driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating a vehicle with no registration lamp. Rajuncas was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and South Old Rand Road. Rajuncas was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Sept. 7 court date in Mundelein.

WARRANT

Fabia Delatorroe, 21, 2510 Algonquin Road, Rolling Meadows, was arrested Sunday on a warrant issued for failure to appear in court for traffic charges. Delatorroe was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and June Terrace. Delatorroe was unable to post the necessary cash bond and was issued a new court date.

DUI

Bruno T. Vanags, 52, 7 Whitman Terrace, Hawthorn Woods, was charged July 25 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, illegal transportation of open alcohol, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane use. Vanags was taken into custody on the first block of Whitman Terrace. Vanags was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued an Aug. 13 court date in Waukegan.

Nanci Mendoza Mondragon, 22, 930 Winnetka Terrace, Lake Zurich, was charged July 23 with DUI-alcohol and failure to signal when required. Mondragon was taken into custody near the intersection of Rand and North Old Rand roads. Mondragon was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued an Aug. 20 court date in Waukegan.

POSSESSION

Douglas W. Nelson, 24, 1221 Rodgers Court, Lake Zurich, and Monica Metyka, 22, 1235 Pheasant Ridge, Lake Zurich, were charged July 24 with possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct. Nelson and Metyka were taken into custody on the 1200 block of Pheasant Ridge Drive. Both were released on $120 personal recognizance bonds and issued Sept. 7 court dates in Mundelein.

THEFT

A complainant reported Friday that unknown subject(s) removed credit cards from her purse while she was on the 700 block of South Rand Road. Loss is estimated at $157.89.

A complainant reported Saturday that unknown subject(s) took her son’s skateboard from the 100 block of North Old Rand Road. Loss is estimated at $450.

A complainant reported July 23 that unknown subject(s) removed two signs from the side of a business on the 500 block of Ela Road. Loss is estimated at $370.

A complainant reported July 23 that unknown subject(s) took several bottles of alcohol from a business on the 300 block of South Rand Road. Loss is estimated at $760.

A complainant reported July 23 that unknown subject(s) took several bottles of alcohol from a business on the 300 block of South Rand Road. Loss is estimated at $260.

Hawthorn Woods

TRAFFIC

Mark T. Price, 28, 2197 N. Arapahoe Trail, Round Lake, was charged July 26 with driving on a suspended driver’s license and improper lane use. Price was taken into custody near the intersection of North Fairfield and Schwerman roads. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and issued a Sept. 14 court date in Mundelein.

Jovanni Morales, 24, 117 W. Main St., No. A, Lake Zurich, was charged July 22 with driving without a valid driver’s license and improper lane use. Morales was taken into custody near the intersection of North Midlothian and West Old McHenry roads. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and issued an Aug. 10 court date in Mundelein.

Aaron Fonseca, 34, 133 S. Lincoln Ave., Mundelein, was charged July 21 with driving on a suspended driver’s license and following too closely. Fonseca was taken into custody near the intersection of North Midlothian and West Old McHenry roads. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and issued a Sept. 14 court date in Mundelein.

Robert M. Hanzel, 23, 1325 Fairfield Court, Wheeling, was charged July 21 with driving on a suspended driver’s license and driving on a suspended registration. Hanzel was taken into custody near the intersection of East Old McHenry and North Quentin Roads. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and issued an Aug. 10 court date in Mundelein.

Kildeer

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A complainant reported July 26 that unknown subject(s) knocked down a mailbox on the 21000 block of Boschome Drive. Loss is estimated at $75.

TRAFFIC

Erik D. Christiansen, 42, 32947 N. Fairfield Road, Round Lake, was charged July 24 with driving without proof of insurance and speeding. Christiansen was taken into custody near the intersection of North Quentin and East Cuba roads in Lake Zurich. No bond information was provided.

Jorge Barajas-Gomez, 41, 103 Woodland Drive, Round Lake, was charged July 20 with driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding. Barajas-Gomez was taken into custody near the intersection of White Pine and North Quentin Roads. He was released on $150 cash, 10 percent of bond, and issued an Aug. 23 court date in Mundelein.

THEFT

A complainant reported July 23 that unknown subject(s) opened fraudulent credit card accounts in the complainant’s name. No losses were reported.

FIREWORKS

It was reported July 21 that there were fireworks violations on the 21000 block of Andover Road.
