The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Lake Zurich
TRAFFIC
Bryor T. Renz, 20, 40 Lake Zurich Drive, Lake Zurich was charged Monday with driving without a valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without head lamps. Renz was taken into custody near the intersection of June Terrace and Route 12. Renz was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 16 court date in Mundelein.
Fred J. Straza, 29, 23577 N. Cottage Road, Lake Zurich, was charged Friday with driving on a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Straza was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Miller Road. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 7 court date in Mundelein.
Silvestre Guerrero, 21, 905 Winnetka Terrace, No. 4, Lake Zurich, was charged Friday with driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding. Guerrero was taken into custody near the intersection of Oak and Beauteau streets. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 2 court date in Mundelein.
Leslie M. Rogers, 27, 370 Ferndale Court, No. 1, Schaumburg, was charged Friday with driving without a valid driver’s license, driving on an expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Rogers was taken into custody on the 1200 block of South Rand Road. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 7 court date in Mundelein.
Fausto Vazquez-Sanchez, 25, was charged Friday with driving without a valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without one head lamp. Vazquez-Sanchez was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and North Old Rand Road. Vazquez-Sanchez was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 2 court date in Mundelein.
Ruben D. Ceballos-Barranco, 20, 6406 Midleton Lane, McHenry, was charged Feb. 1 with driving without a valid driver’s license. Ceballos-Barranco was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Cuba Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 17 court date in Mundelein.
Gregory W. Doose, 22, 1780 Chestnut Lane, Hoffman Estates, was charged Jan. 31 with driving on a suspended driver’s license, unlawful possession of marijuana and improper lane use. Doose was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 22 and Rainbow Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 17 court date in Mundelein.
Juan Parra-Hernandez, 32, 650 E. Liberty St., No. 102, Wauconda, was charged Jan. 30 with driving on a suspended driver’s license, failing to give information after striking property and improper lane use. Parra-Hernandez was taken into custody after surrendering himself at the Lake Zurich Police Station, 200 Mohawk Trail. He was released after posting $150 cash and issued a Feb. 17 court date in Mundelein.
Kyle K. Clark, 20, 33852 N. Fischer Road, Ingleside, was charged Jan. 30 with driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and texting while driving. Clark was taken into custody near the intersection of Buesching Road and Route 22. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 7 court date in Mundelein.
Christopher S.J. Tarrant, 24, 657 Clover Road, Wauconda, was charged Jan. 28 with driving on a suspended driver’s license, driving on an expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Tarrant was taken into custody on the 800 block of North Old Rand Road. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 21 court date in Waukegan.
Alfonso Lopez, 24, 216 Pleasant Road, Lake Zurich, was charged Jan. 26 with driving on a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Lopez was taken into custody near the intersection of Lake Street and West Main Street. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 2 court date in Mundelein.
DUI
David A. Cross, 48, 39 Lippincott Road, Fox Lake, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more and endangering the life of a child. Cross was taken into custody on the 1000 block of South Old Rand Road. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 5 court date in Waukegan.
Cheryl A. Barrett, 41, 862 W. Saratoga Circle, Island Lake, was charged Feb. 2 with DUI-alcohol, driving on a suspended driver’s license and improper lane use. Barrett was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Miller Road. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 5 court date in Waukegan.
Michael K. Conte, 18, 21452 W. Oak Trail, Kildeer, was charged Feb. 1 with DUI-drugs. Conte was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 22 and Ela Road. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 5 court date in Waukegan.
Frances L. Buerman, 42, 30W214 Briar Lane, Naperville, was charged Jan. 29 with DUI-alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more and improper lane use. Buerman was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 27 court date in Waukegan.
THEFT
A complainant reported Saturday that one female subject and two male subjects stole money after repeatedly requesting change from a cashier at Walmart, 820 S. Rand Road. Loss estimates were not provided.
A complainant reported Feb. 2 that unknown subject(s) removed a manhole cover near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Telser Road. Loss is estimated at $350.
A complainant reported Jan. 30 that unknown subject(s) removed six sewer covers on the 200 block of Hanbury Drive. Loss estimates were not provided.
A complainant reported Jan. 26 that unknown subject(s) removed two packages of Prilosec without paying from Dominick’s Grocery Store, 345 S. Rand Road. Loss is estimated at $47.80.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
A complainant reported Saturday that unknown subject(s) looked through her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 100 block of Sussex Court. Nothing was reported missing.
A complainant reported Saturday that one female subject and two male subjects ran from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 900 block of Pembridge Road. Nothing was reported missing.
Rick Maaning, 56, and Ronald Maaning, 52, 1900 S. Vine St., Park Ridge, were charged Friday with trespassing. Police reports state that Rick Maaning was also charged with resisting a peace officer. Rick and Ronald Maaning were taken into custody on the 500 block of South Rand Road. They were released on $1,500 personal recognizance bonds and issued a Feb. 21 court date in Waukegan.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A complainant reported Feb. 2 that an unknown subject driving a gray Buick in circles left tire marks on the 40 block of Church Street. Damage estimates were not provided.
A complainant reported Jan. 27 that unknown subject(s) scratcher her vehicle with a sharp object while it was parked on the 300 block of Church Street. Damage estimates were not provided.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A complainant reported that his mother sent $11,400 to Mexico via Western Union because a male subject called pretending to be her grandson and requested money.
BURGLARY
A complainant reported Feb. 1 that unknown subject(s) removed cigarettes and money from his unlocked car while it was parked on the 200 block of Denberry Drive. Loss is estimated at $26.
A complainant reported Feb. 1 that unknown subject(s) removed money from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of Washo Drive. Loss is estimated at $60.
A complainant reported Jan. 30 that unknown subjects(s) removed tools from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 300 block of Meadow Lane. Loss is estimated at $1,000.
POSSESSION
Curtis B. Roach, 20, 37 Mionske Drive, Lake Zurich, was charged Feb. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Roach was taken into custody on the first block of Mionske Drive. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.
Nicholas A. Esposito, 22, 219 Center Road, Frankfort, was charged Jan. 29 with possession of marijuana, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with one head lamp. Esposito was taken into custody on the 900 block of South Rand Road. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 17 court date in Mundelein.
VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION
Edward J. DiGangi, 53, 5N339 Bunker Terrace, Itasca, was charged Jan. 31 with violating an order of protection. DiGangi was taken into custody on the 700 block of South Rand Road. He was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department to await a bond hearing.
Hawthorn Woods
DUI
Robert G. Dreux Jr., 62, 377 Lincoln Terrace, Buffalo Grove, was charged Feb. 1 with driving under the influence of alcohol and transportation of opened liquor. Dreux was taken into custody on the first block of Landover Parkway. He was released after posting $100 cash and issued a March 14 court date in Waukegan.
Kildeer
POSSESSION
John G. Merritt, 23, 32 Covington Road, Fox Lake, was charged Jan. 31 with possession of drug paraphernalia. Merritt was taken into custody near the intersection of North Rand Road and Wooded Ridge Drive. He was issued a compliance citation. Further information was not made available.
HARASSMENT
A complainant on the 20000 block of Chartwell Drive reported Jan. 30 that she received harassing phone calls.
A complainant on the 20000 block of Weatherstone Road reported Jan. 30 that she received harassing phone calls.
THEFT
A complainant reported Jan. 29 that unknown subject(s) removed a mailbox from his residence on the 20000 block of Chestnut Ridge Road. Loss is estimated at $500.
TRAFFIC
Jose G. Peralta-Martinez, 33, 2134 E. Old Hicks Road, Palatine, was charged Jan. 28 with driving on a suspended driver’s license and driving without proof of insurance. Peralta-Martinez was taken into custody near the intersection of North Rand and West Lake Cook Roads. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 15 court date in Mundelein.
