Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police blotter for Feb. 19 to Feb. 26, 2013

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Lake Zurich

DRUGS

Julianne E. Vanaudenaerde, 22, of 7 E. Jeffery Ave., Wheeling, was arrested Feb. 20 and charged with possession of marijuana. She also was cited for failing to wear a safety belt. Vanaudenaerde was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Old Rand Road. She was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein.

WARRANT

Jovan R. Stubbs, 50, of 6558 S. Campbell Ave., Chicago, was arrested Sunday on a warrant issued for failure to appear charges issued out of Lake County. Stubbs was taken into custody near the intersection of South Old Rand Road and Cardinal Drive. Stubbs’s bond amount was set at $3,500, 10 percent of bond. Stubbs was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department after he was unable to post bond.

Andrew T. Thias, 50, of 612 Cedar Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested Feb. 20 on a warrant issued for failure to appear charges issued out of McHenry County. Thias was taken into custody near the intersection of North Old Rand Road and Pine Tree Row. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail after he was unable to post bond.

DAMAGE

Police investigated two reports of criminal damage to property between Feb. 19 and 24. The first involved a car that was scratched and its side view mirror was broken. On Feb. 24, officers responded to a report that the wiper blades and side view mirror were damaged on a vehicle parked on the 900 block of Ensell Road. Total damage is estimated at $350.

BURGLARY

Police responded to a report of burglary Feb. 21 in which a purse and an iPad were removed from a vehicle after its window was broken. The car was parked on the 800 block of South Rand Road. Loss estimates were not provided.

THEFT

Police investigated a report of theft Feb. 21 in which a watch was reported missing from a room at Holiday Inn Express, 197 S. Rand Road. Loss estimates were not provided.

Kildeer

WARRANT

Mario Garcia, 34, of 1720 N. Nagle Ave., Chicago was arrested Feb. 19 on a warrant issued for failure to appear charges. Garcia was taken into custody near the intersection of Weatherstone and Long Grove roads. No further information was provided.

FRAUD

Kildeer police investigated a report of fraud Feb. 15 in which a victim paid for services that were reportedly not performed. Losses are estimated at $235.

HAWTHORN WOODS
