Lake Zurich police blotter for Feb. 12 - Feb. 18, 2013

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Lake Zurich
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Dominic R. Mastrodonato, 25, of 886 Pine Hill Drive, Antioch, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of disorderly conduct. He also was cited for failing to wear a safety belt. Mastrodonato was taken into custody on Route 12 near Paulus Park. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 15 court date in Mundelein.
THEFT
Crystal M. Palamara, 38, of 110 Breezy Point Lane, No. 201, Lake Zurich, was arrested Sunday and charged with retail theft at Wal-Mart, 820 S. Rand Road. Palamara, who was taken into custody on the 800 block of South Rand Road, was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein.
DUI
Sylwia A. Kopacz, 25, of 1300 Inverrary Lane, Palatine, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Kopacz also was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal lane use. Kopacz was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Ela Road. Kopacz was released after posting $300 cash bond and issued a March 25 court date in Waukegan.
Donna L. Postillion, 54, of 1034 Pheasant Ridge Drive, Lake Zurich, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. She also was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and illegal lane use. Postillion was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and North Old Rand Road. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 18 court date in Waukegan.
DRUGS
John L. Walker, 66, of 245 W. Main St., No. 105, Lake Zurich, was arrested Friday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. According to police, Walker was taken into custody in connection with an investigation of an unknown problem on the 200 block of West Main Street. He remained in custody pending a bond hearing.
BURGLARY
Officers investigated a report of burglary to a vehicle on Monday in which compact discs were removed from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 500 block of South Rand Road. The loss is estimated at $100.
TRAFFIC
Kevin M. Schaar, 20, of 3811 Revova Lane, Bozeman, Mont., was arrested Monday and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license. He also was cited for failing to wear a safety belt. Schaar was taken into custody on the 600 block of North Rand Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein.
Silvia J. Izurieta, 25, of 41 Golfview Road, Lake Zurich, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license. Izurieta was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and Wilmette Terrace. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 1 court date in Mundelein.
Ricardo T. Gomez, 25, of 5225 W. 23rd Place, Cicero, was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license. He also was cited for failing to wear a safety belt. Gomez was taken into custody near the intersection of Ravinia Terrace and Route 12. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a March 1 court date in Mundelein.
Juan L. Escobar, 38, 1485 N. Winslowe Drive, Palatine, was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and disobeying a traffic control device. Escobar was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and June Terrace. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein.
WARRANT
Tracy N. Ramirez, 20, 201 S. Buesching Road, No. 104, Lake Zurich was arrested Sunday on a warrant issued out of Lake County for theft. Ramirez was taken into custody on the 200 block of Mohawk Trail. She was held at the Lake Zurich Police Department after she was unable to post $1,000, 10 percent of bond.
Daniel Calderon, 33, 32 Golfview Road, Lake Zurich, was arrested Feb. 12 on a warrant issued for failure-to-appear charges after he was stopped and charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license and failing to signal when required. Calderon was taken into custody near the intersection of Lions Drive and Jamie Lane. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein. He was issued an April 5 court date in Mundelein for the traffic charges and remained in custody pending a bond hearing for the warrant.
