Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police blotter for Jan. 24, 2013

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Lake Zurich
DUI
Elizabeth Pilaski, 31, of 26389 N. Route 83, Mundelein, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She also was cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Pilaski was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and June Terrace. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 11 court date in Waukegan.
William M. Martin, 48, of 1019 Woodview Court, Aurora, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was cited for driving in the wrong lane. Martin was taken into custody near the intersection of Routes 12 and 22. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 25 court date in Waukegan.
Salvador Ortega, 25, of 1311 N. Hickory Ave., Round Lake Beach, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s license and illegal lane use. Ortega was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 12 and North Old Rand Road. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 25 court date in Waukegan.
THEFT
Maria Munoz-Gonzalez, 30, of 1756 N. Rose Ave., Palatine, was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with retail theft at the business at 675 N. Rand Road. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Feb. 4 court date in Waukegan.
Rachel R. Edwards, 18, 847 Niagara Drive, Volo, was arrested Jan. 16 and charged with retail theft at 675 N. Rand Road. She remained in custody with a bond hearing pending.
ENDANGERING A CHILD
John L. Monaco, 37, of 21 Riderwood Road, North Barrington, was arrested Jan. 14 and charged with endangering the life/health of a child. A police report states that Monaco left a young child unattended in a parked vehicle on the 600 block of South Rand Road. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and issued a Jan. 28 court date in Waukegan.
DAMAGE
Lake Zurich police responded to four reports of criminal damage to property between Jan. 16 and Saturday. A mailbox was damaged on the 100 block of Harbor Drive; a vehicle’s mirror was damaged on the 400 block of Waterford Drive; and the side mirrors of two vans were damaged on the 400 block of Rose Road. Total damages were estimated at $250.
BURGLARY
Police responded to two reports of burglary to motor vehicles last week. On Saturday, a car window was broken and a detector was removed on the 300 block of North Rand Road. On Jan. 16, the ignition module was removed from a vehicle on the first block of South Buesching Road. Total losses were estimated at $400.
Kildeer
THEFT
Donna J. Stull, 59, of 328 Lake St., Crystal Lake, was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with retail theft on the 20000 block of Rand Road in Kildeer. She was released on $1,000 cash, 10 percent of bond, and issued a Feb. 28 court date in Mundelein.
Michael Carson-Sulzer, 21, of 595 Vernon Lane, Buffalo Grove, was arrested Jan. 12 and charged with identity theft and credit card fraud. Carson-Sulzer was taken into custody on the 20000 block of North Rand Road in Kildeer. No further information was provided. Loss was estimated at $8,000.
