LAKE ZURICH — A man involved in a fatal crash Tuesday in Lake Zurich has been identified.

William Wang, 76, of the 24000 block of Hunters Lane, Deer Park, was identified as the person who died while driving a Dodge Caravan that drifted over the center line on Cuba Road and struck another vehicle head-on.

Deputy Police Chief Kevin Finlon said a Ford Explorer was eastbound on Cuba Road when a Dodge Caravan coming in the opposite direction around 1:20 p.m. crossed the center line near Berkshire Lane. Finlon said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating the accident.

Emergency crews arrived to find two people, one in each vehicle, requiring extrication. Both of those people were transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Lake Barrington, where one man died.

The Ford Explorer was driven by a woman who had her daughter as a passenger. The daughter was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
