Gaffney remaining on ballot

Despite an objection filed against Incumbent Kent Gaffney by David McSweeney, a candidate running for state representative in the 52nd district, the Illinois State Board of Elections ruled Tuesday Gaffney will remain on the ballot for the March 20 primary.
Gaffney issued a press release calling for McSweeney to drop out of the race while McSweeney issued a release saying he will appeal the decision.McSweeney has alleged Gaffney used paid government staffers to circulate his petitions.
