“Back by popular demand” is a well-worn show-biz phrase, but it applies perfectly as the 17-piece Jazz Consortium Big Band returns to Durty Nellie’s, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine, beginning July 10, 7:00-10:00 p.m. for an extended residency the second Sunday of each month. The cover charge is $10.00 for this 21-and-older club performance. The group features swing and jazz-rock favorites from the repertoire of such iconic Big Bands as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Thad Jones and Maynard Ferguson, as well as band originals
