Crime briefs: $11,000 worth of unauthorized credit charges made

Lake Zurich and Kildeer officers investigated a series of thefts and criminal damage to property reports during the last month, according to police reports.

LAKE ZURICH

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A bathroom stall was damaged Sunday at a business on the 300 block of South Old Rand Road. Damage estimates were not provided.

A vehicle was damaged Saturday while it was parked on the 1200 block of Pheasant Ridge Drive. Damages were estimated at $350.

Tires were slashed April 19 while a car was parked on the 100 block of Newgate Court. The damage was estimated at $180.

Another vehicle was damaged April 16 while it was parked on the 800 block of Windemere Lane.

The sign at the intersection of Quentin Road and Pheasant Ridge Drive was spray-painted April 16.

THEFT

Merchandise was taken from a business Friday on the 500 block of South Rand Road. Losses were estimated at $289.96.

Decorative boxes and gemstones were taken April 19 from a residence on the 300 block of Thistle Lane. Losses were estimated at $875.

The bar codes of items were switched April 22 at Target, 555 S. Rand Road, so that less than full value was paid, police said. Losses were estimated at $1,495.

Merchandise including a bottle of liquor were taken April 22 from Target, 555 S. Rand Road. Losses were estimated at $495.05.

A bottle of liquor was taken April 22 from Jewel Osco, 485 Ela Road. Loss estimates were not provided.

A cell phone was stolen April 19 from the 1000 block of Old McHenry Road. The loss was estimated at $200.

An iPhone was taken April 15 from an apartment on the 900 block of Winnetka Terrace. Loss estimates were not provided.

About $11,000 in unauthorized charges were made to a resident’s credit card on April 14.

The criminal damage incidents in Lake Zurich included two reports involving vehicles and one to a sign.

KILDEER

THEFT

Packaged items were taken from a residence April 2 after they were delivered to the 23000 block of North Sanctuary Club Drive. The loss was estimated at $380.

A resident learned April 4 that a phone he or she purchased was stolen. The loss was $270.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Graffiti was spray-painted onto a vacant building April 5 on the 21000 block of West Shirley Road.
